Red Light Therapy

Medical-grade red and near-infrared light penetrates deep into tissue to reduce inflammation, ease chronic pain, and accelerate the body’s natural healing response. No needles, no downtime.

Healing at the Cellular Level

Red light therapy, also called photobiomodulation, uses specific wavelengths of red and near-infrared light to stimulate cellular activity in the tissue. At the cellular level, it increases mitochondrial energy production, which supports the body’s natural repair process.

Unlike the Remy Class IV Laser, which delivers focused high-powered energy to a specific area for targeted tissue repair, red light therapy is a broader, gentler approach designed to complement other treatments as part of a comprehensive care plan.

Conditions That Respond Well

  • ✓Peripheral neuropathy and nerve pain
  • ✓Chronic foot and ankle inflammation
  • ✓Soft tissue injuries and slow-healing wounds
  • ✓Post-treatment recovery and tissue support
  • ✓General pain reduction and improved circulation

Red Light Therapy vs Remy Class IV Laser

Both use light energy to support healing, but they work differently and are suited to different roles in a treatment plan.

Red Light Therapy

  • Lower-intensity light therapy designed for repeated use over time
  • Medical-grade therapy that can be used at home
  • Supports circulation and recovery
  • Helps manage inflammation
  • Ideal for ongoing maintenance

Remy Class IV Laser

  • Higher-powered therapeutic laser used in-office
  • Delivers more concentrated energy in shorter treatment sessions
  • Targets specific areas of pain or injury
  • Reaches deeper tissue
  • Designed to create faster, more focused therapeutic effects

Used Together for a Synergistic Effect

For many patients, red light therapy and the Remy Class IV Laser complement each other effectively. The laser delivers focused high-powered energy to repair specific damaged tissue. Red light therapy then supports broader recovery, reduces inflammation in the surrounding area, and helps the body sustain the healing process. Used together, they provide a layered approach: the Remy Class IV Laser delivers more intensive in-office treatment, while red light therapy can help maintain and support those results over time.

Dr. Jenkins will assess whether a combined approach is appropriate for your condition during your consultation. Not every patient needs both, and the recommendation will always be based on your specific situation.

What Patients Ask Us

Does red light therapy hurt?

No. Red light therapy is gentle and comfortable. Most patients feel nothing during treatment, or at most a very mild warmth. There is no pain and no downtime.

How long should I use red light therapy?

Red light therapy is typically used for approximately 15 minutes, twice a day, for a total of no more than about 30 minutes per day.

What is the difference between red light therapy and the Remy Class IV Laser?

Red light therapy is a lower-intensity, medical-grade therapy designed for repeated use over time, including at home, and it supports circulation, recovery, and inflammation management. The Remy Class IV Laser is a higher-powered therapeutic laser used in-office that delivers more concentrated energy in shorter sessions, targets specific areas of pain or injury, and reaches deeper tissue for faster, more focused therapeutic effects.
